In the Pre 60 class Peter Hollinshead ran away with it and Rob Griffiths and Mike Wright fought tooth and nail to the very end to decide the runner up. Regular competitor Ray Everitt sustained a serious injury in the second round which put him out for most of the season.
Mick Beech lead the Pre 65 up to 250/350 class for all five rounds and only lost it to Robert Jones in the final round. Rob Hamer did well in the last round to earn third place in the championship.
In the Pre 65 Unlimited Terry Challinor was easily the winner, with Robert Jones just holding off Phil Edwards for second place. Terry does not normally do the championship events but was coaxed to take part and a win is a fitting tribute to everything he puts into the classic scene, both as rider and organisor.
In the Metisse Class, although it was thought that Terry Challinor would run away with it, it turned out not to be the case because Phil Edwards had sufficient oints in the last round to clinch the title by one point. Dave Cooper who won the class last year finished in third place.
Lee Bird controlled the Pre 74 up to 250 class from Dave Weaver and Ed Morris, and it was down to the wire in the Pre 74 over 250 with John Littler taking the championship by one point from Brian Littler, with Andy Carter taking the bronze in the final standings.
